I Don't Recognize That Face
 That phrase goes over and over in my mind every weekend. With the incredible success of Kids’ Community Basketball, I have thought many times about all the new faces that are walking into our church. Some of the people I recognize from previous years, but I have been so excited about all the new faces of kids and families who are part of the program. I have met people brand new to the basketball league as well as relatives who come to cheer their child on at the games. I am constantly reminded what a great harvest is walking in the doors of our church every weekend.
I know many of you are long past the days of having kids in Kids’ Community, but I hope we all recognize that every member of the church is part of this ministry. You can participate by praying right now for the coaches as they share the gospel each week. Pray for the leadership as they direct the ministry. Pray for the children who are involved and their families. Pray especially for the kids and family members who do not know Christ as Savior.
You and I may not know everyone who is a part of Kids’ Community, but our Lord knows them and loves them. We have a great honor to share the love of Christ with the families involved. This only makes me more excited about our Sports Ministry. We know that year-round we will have new people coming in and hearing about the love of our Savior.
Let’s all get in the game by praying, giving, and sharing the love of Christ.

Married Adult One - Destination Unknown
Destination Unknown is this Saturday, January 30, from 5:30 - 10 pm. Hit the “Easy Button” for a night on the town by signing up for this event. Invite your friends and neighbors to join the Married Adult One Bible Fellowship classes for an evening of intrigue where the destination is unknown. Purchase your $10 tickets online by Wednesday, January 27, at midnight. Sorry, child-care reservations are no longer available. Please bring money for dinner.
Thank You from Angel Food Ministries
 FBCC gave 158 boxes of food to Christmas Store customers – the total dollar amount given was $4,740. It was so exciting to give away all this food! The families that received them were so blessed! It was such a surprise to them and I received many thank you’s and hugs. I want to thank the leadership at FBCC and our members for opening up their hearts and wallets to be able to feed these families in the month of December.
Thank you for blessing our volunteers with the ability to serve through our church to bless Carrollton and the surrounding areas. We had 50 volunteers that came on December 19 to pack boxes of food and carry the boxes out to the cars. They truly felt that it was more fun to give than receive. Blessings,

GlobeTrekker Boys Racer Night
GlobeTrekker Racer Night will be Wednesday, February 10, at 6:30 pm in the Family Center.
GlobeTrekker Mini Camp for Girls
The GlobeTrekker Girls’ Mini Camp will be March 26 - 27 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment. Cost is $40, which includes a non-refundable $10 registration fee. Register online by midnight, Wednesday, February 24.

No Friends Left Out (NFL) Sunday
Sunday, February 7, is NFL Sunday. Birth-5th grade children are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team jersey. Classes in 1st-5th grade who bring the most friends on February 7 will have a pizza party in their classes on Sunday, February 14.
Thank You for the Blankets
“Thank you, church family,” for generously donating more than 200 blankets for Buckner Orphans and for children in the Dallas area homeless shelters. Blankets are still needed during cold weather months. Donations can be made through March. Please bring blankets to the Church Office any business day or to the Forerunner table in the Fellowship Mall on Sunday mornings.

International Student Partners
Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” We have an opportunity to go into all the “world” right here in our community - become an American Friendship Partner with an international student attending UT-Dallas this year. You can spend time with the student to show them American culture and lifestyle Christianity. We all are called and commissioned to be missionaries – this is an easy and fulfilling way to achieve that mission. Mission Trip Meeting to Kenya
An initial meeting will be held at 7 pm after the evening service this Sunday for those interested in going to Kenya (April 23-May 1). Please bring your passport with you to the meeting so that we can process visas. Meet in the middle section of the Worship Center. Elevate for Parents
We are offering a special Elevate weekend emphasis for parents. Toby Freyou, Children’s Pastor and speaker, will be leading the weekend. His insights from scripture and life will make you laugh and think about the joy and challenges of raising a teenager. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 20.
Elevate for Students
Registration is still available for students to attend Elevate 2010. This year we are going to the Brookhaven Retreat Center in Hawkins, TX. It will be a weekend full of worship, prayer, fun activities, and fellowship. The cost is $125.
Beach Camp 2010
This year we are going to Orange Beach, AL for Beach Camp on June 14-18, 2010. Early bird registration is now open through February 28 and costs $315.
